Multimaterial Additively Manufactured Transmissive Spin‐Decoupled Polarization‐Maintaining Metasurfaces

Abstract Taking advantage of multimaterial additive manufacturing, this work demonstrates a kind polarization‐maintaining metasurface (MS) for spin‐decoupled beam shaping. The wavefronts the two spin states, i.e., left‐hand circular polarization (LHCP) and right‐hand (RHCP), can be independently manipulated while output state remains same as input. meta‐atom is implemented with dual‐polarized antennas at top bottom phase delay lines connecting them. antenna on receiving side fixed to receive LHCP/RHCP incident waves, transmitting rotated, providing opposite shifts LHCP RHCP. absolute value shift antenna's rotation angle. Meanwhile, varying length introduces 2π both RHCP inputs. Thus, combining phase‐shifting degrees freedom, controlled not flipped after through MS. One MS produces vortex beams different topological charges other achieves focusing. multilayered MSs are conveniently printed using manufacturing without postprocessing.
